BRET MICHAELS On Possibility Of POISON Tour: 'We're Close To Making It Happen'

Bret Michaels has told Tampa Bay Times in a new interview that he is hopeful POISON will hit the road again in 2017. "It'd be great for Bobby [Dall, bass] and C.C. [DeVille, guitar] and Rikki [Rockett, drums] and I to just be out there and have three months," he said. "It's on my wish list, we're close to making it happen, and I know they want to do it, and they'll have a great time doing it."
Michaels hinted in several 2016 interviews that POISON would re-team with DEF LEPPARD for a U.S. tour in 2017. But LEPPARD guitarist Phil Collen later told the 106.9 The Eagle radio station that he knew nothing about the proposed pairing.
POISON and DEF LEPPARD first hit the road together back in 2009, and then again three years later.
POISON appeared at the 2013 Indy 500 Miller Lite Carb Day, but has otherwise been mostly playing private shows, including one in January 2015.
The band hasn't done any major touring since taking part in the 2012 "Rock Of Ages" trek with DEF LEPPARD and LITA FORD.
Rockett was recently declared cancer free after undergoing an experimental treatment. He was diagnosed with oral cancer back in 2015.

THE PRETTY RECKLESS On Songwriting

THE PRETTY RECKLESS singer Taylor Momsen and guitarist Ben Phillips were recently interviewed by veteran radio personality Jenn Marino, who in 2014 joined MÖTLEY CRÜE and SIXX:A.M. bassist Nikki Sixx as co-host of "Sixx Sense With Nikki Sixx" and "The Side Show Countdown With Nikki Sixx". You can now watch the chat below.
Speaking about THE PRETTY RECKLESS songwriting process, Taylor said: "I'm always writing, and he is too, so you're always jotting down ideas and things like that, but the real meat of the material comes when we get off tour and we actually have some time to reflect and sit with our own thoughts and work on it. 'Cause on tour, you're always working on tour, and you're always with people, and there's no alone time."
Added Ben: "It doesn't really have a method. Someone gets lucky with an idea, and we kind of go with it. But we set aside…not time, like today. It's not like on a day-to-day thing. It's, well, we're done touring, so now that's the focus. Whenever someone comes up with something, they come up with something."
He continued: "Writing's an interesting thing. It's hard to talk about, it's hard to describe."
THE PRETTY RECKLESS recently broke a record set by 3 DOORS DOWN by having its first four mainstream singles hit No. 1 on Billboard's rock chart.
THE PRETTY RECKLESS also now have the most No. 1 singles by a female-fronted rock act.
The band's third studio set, "Who You Selling For", arrived on October 21.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Completes Work On New Album

According to a new Instagram post by FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Jason Hook, the band has completed work on its new album, due later in the year.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH in November released a snippet of a brand new song via video containing highlights from the road.
The band recently signed a North American deal with Rise RecordsFIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's first album with Rise, the BMG-owned rock label, will be released following the completion of the group's obligation to its current label, Prospect Park.
Hook said last summer that FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH doesn't like to take look long between albums. "We're workaholics," he said. "We went right back in the studio. Every time we talk about taking a break, it just doesn't feel right. Sitting around it just feels like we could be doing something. We're always concerned that we might lose momentum or that people will stop caring. I think we're overachievers by nature."
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Zoltan Bathory echoed those comments, telling the Minnesota radio station 93X: "Everybody [in this band] is a workaholic. This is what we do. In fact, I can't really go on vacation and shut down my phone. I can't do that. You know what I mean?! And that's just what it is. We all have a studio at home, and then we have Kevin's [Churko, producer] studio in Las Vegas, so he's there. So somebody is always working on something. And I think it's about efficiency. If I'm working on something in the studio, then Jason and Jeremy [Spencer, drums] are working in theirs. And then when I'm going home and working on some pre-production of mine, then they're in the studio. So we're always just kind of bouncing around."
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's latest album, 2015's "Got Your Six", was officially certified gold on August 8, 2016 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for sales in excess of 500,000 copies.
Effective February 1, 2016, the RIAA started including on-demand audio and video streams and a track sale equivalent in determining which releases get the coveted album awards, a change that follows a similar tweak in 2013 to include on-demand streams for its digital single award.
